| WHAT I BELIEVE | |||

I believe that the greatest commandment given by God is that we love him. We are to love him as much as he loves us (if that were possible). When one becomes a Christian that is the most basic relationship that he or she must have with God, even before they begin to work out their doctrinal beliefs or start to grasp theology, The ultimate foundation of our faith has to be that we love God. That's why I seek him, that's why I study the bible and why I want to obey him. Not out of fear of damnation or out of obligation but because I love him with all my heart, soul, and mind. Why do I love him? Because he's my Father. I believe there is a God. For many reason's, click here for a few. I believe that the Bible is real, not a story book, but a historically accurate book written by men who were inspired by God, click here to see why. I also believe that Jesus is a man, is God, and he is the Christ click here to see why. I believe he walked the earth and told us the way to salvation then because of his love for us and because of his love for God he made a way for us. He was crucified on a cross, and paid a debt that we owed. After he died God raised him from the dead. Because he paid that debt we can now follow the way he showed us and like him we to will not remain dead but will be raised to be with him in heaven with God,. I believe there is a place called Hell where pain and horror is intolerable. Hell was prepared for the Devil and his angles but, there will be many people there because they chose not to follow Christ. Finally I believe that God judges men's hearts. All the good deeds in the world won't earn you salvation, 1000 sinner's prayers or a million hail Marys won't save you. God's grace is received only by having faith in Jesus Christ. That is, loving Jesus Christ, trusting in him, being "in him". There's a lot of things I still don't understand about God, but I try everyday to learn more. I believe complacency is the worst enemy of a Christian. Paul say's we should be running the race, not watching it. And we need to keep running this race until we are with Christ, it doesn't end here on earth no matter how old you are. Finally I believe the Bible is a letter to all men, not just the scholarly or brilliant but to all who would seek God, and God rewards those of seek him. |
